Terms of service

Last updated October 23, 2026. These terms are between you and Kyle Judson, doing business as SheetMiles, Holden, Massachusetts, USA ("we"). Contact: support@sheetmiles.com.

1. The service

SheetMiles is a Google Sheets add-on that builds a mileage log from your Google Calendar events. By installing or using it you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

2. Not tax, legal or accounting advice

SheetMiles is a record-keeping tool. It applies published IRS standard mileage rates and your own settings (categories, keywords, base address). Whether any trip is deductible or reimbursable, and how to report it, depends on your circumstances. Consult a qualified tax professional. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting your log before relying on it.

3. Accuracy

Distances come from Google Maps driving routes between the addresses in your events and may differ from the route you actually drove. Events without a usable address are skipped. Rates are updated when the IRS publishes changes, but we can't guarantee every update is immediate. Check the log.

4. Trial, subscriptions and billing

New users get a 14-day free trial with no payment details required. Paid plans are $39 per year or $4.99 per month (plus any applicable tax), billed in advance through Stripe and renewing automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time from "Manage billing" in the add-on; you keep access until the end of the paid period. If you're unhappy within 14 days of your first payment, email us for a full refund. Otherwise payments are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service, attempt to bypass licensing, overload our servers or use SheetMiles to break the law. One subscription covers one Google account.

6. Your data

Your calendar and spreadsheets remain yours. We handle data as described in the privacy policy.

7. Third-party services

SheetMiles relies on Google (Sheets, Calendar, Maps, Apps Script), Stripe and Cloudflare. Their availability and terms are outside our control.

8. Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR TAXES, PENALTIES OR INTEREST, AND OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

10. Termination

You can stop using SheetMiles at any time. We may suspend access for breach of these terms. We may discontinue the service with 30 days' notice and a pro-rated refund of any prepaid period.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

12. Changes

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
